Dear Dr. Sibly:
It has been years since you published your paper “On the Regulation of Populations of Mammals, Birds, Fish, and Insects.” I am sure you have gone on to other things, but it seems to me the issue is so important that I cannot give it up. In fact I recently chided someone for speaking out on the issue of human birth rates and it was clear he had not read your article, and what you had to say was far more relevant to his data than anything else he had to offer.
I should have mentioned that I have a web site nobabies.net in which I examine the issue of kinship and fertility. I post something roughly every other day. Sometimes people complain that writing a column every week is difficult to keep up for a year. I have been more than a year, and my difficulty is that there is so much to say that by the time a subject comes up in the queue I forget what I was going to say about it. Anyway, I shall post this letter as an open letter on my site to say in public what I have already told you, which is how much I appreciate what you have done in getting the truth out. As you know, I was already working on the issue, but yours was the first article to which I could point and say, “See there. That’s what’s going on in the world. And the effects are incredibly important.” Of course I showcase it on the site.
For another thing, I have had an artist put together a DVD with some of my best evidence. It takes about 10 minutes to play. I hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think.
